Friend's Wedding and a Visit to San Diego

On October 9th our friends Mike and Amanda were married in a very sweet ceremony. Our roommate composed the song that she walked down the aisle to and I think most everyone was crying. It was so lovely. The reception was in a friend's backyard and they had a huge bonfire and everything. It was a dessert reception so I was on a sugar high within minutes of arriving.

These are the popcorn balls that Jamie and I made instead of pie pops...they were very chewy.

Then Jamie left the next day to go home to San Diego and I was able to come visit a week later. It was so nice to visit with his family and we had such a great time! It was my fall break, so I was able to relax and drink lots of coffee and eat SO much great food. Jamie's mama, Loraine, is an amazing cook and so sweet and welcoming. We visited with his Gammie and got to play some cards with his Dad and friends. I really couldn't have asked for a more refreshing weekend.

Jamie and I took a long walk on the beach and came across a bunch of cool marine life. We weren't able to catch it on film, but these little guys kept popping their heads up and then sticking out a very long brown tongue. It was neat, yet kind of creepy too.

There were SO many shells of lobsters and crabs strewn along the beach. This one was particularly large and interesting.
It wasn't typical October weather, but it was still nice to get our toes wet.

He is so adorable!
This is the Hartzell Family. The guy in the back is Jay and he and Jamie have been friends since they were really young. We went out to lunch at a French Deli and had such a great time.
We came back to FALL weather and it is so beautiful. All the leaves are changing and our front yard it covered with yellow sugar maple leaves.

I love the fall.
